F-14 Tomcat Association 2008 Annual Reunion Virginia Beach, VA – September 17-21, 2008
Welcome This year we will be holding our annual reunion and general membership meeting in conjunction with the Oceana Air Show. As a reunion registered Association member, you will have access to an air show chalet any or all of the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shows. The air show chalet is a shared event with Tailhook and ANA.
Registration Fee The registration fee for an Association member is $10 total for member and guest. Some of the scheduled reunion events are supplemented with Association general funds, so Association membership is required. Non members may register and the cost of Association membership ($25/year) plus the $10 registration fee will be added to your total bill and you will receive the membership package described on our web site. As an Association member, your registration fee will include your guest. An additional $10 late registration fee will be added for registrations after 31 July 08.
NAS Oceana Base Access NAS Oceana will be open to the public during the air show. At times when the base is not open to the public, the Association will work with base security on getting access for all reunion attendees for any activities held on the base. This should not be a problem.
Oceana Officer’s Club Access Any events held at the O'Club will be open to all attendees including civilians and maintainers. These will be Tomcat community events and all reunion attendees will be welcome.
Event Sites and Times We are still working on an official reunion hotel and that will be announced soon. Please note that at this time not all event sites and times are confirmed. You will be notified well in advance with the time and place of TBD events when they are firmed up. This announcement will also be updated as times and places are firmed up. The schedule dates are firm at this time.
Registration You may register on-line at http://www.f-14association.com/registration08/. When the registration form is submitted, you will see a new screen with the total price. You may pay with a credit card or by check. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to select and confirm your e-mail address. Please make sure you select this link as this will be the e-mail address that we will use to communicate reunion information to you. To pay with a credit card, select the PayPal button at the lower left of the display. This will bring you to a secure site for entering credit card information. You do not have to be a PayPal member to use this function. If you are a member, log in and make your payment. If you are not a member, select “Continue” at the lower left under “Don't have a PayPal account?” and follow the instructions. To pay by check, make check payable to “F-14 Tomcat Association” and mail to: F-14 Tomcat Association P.O. Box 1347 Somis, CA 93066 Indicate on the check that this is payment for reunion.
The Fine Print 1. Registrations received after 31 July 2008 will be charged an additional $10 late fee and will be subject to event availability. 2. No registrations will be accepted after 13 September 2008. 3. All registration and late fees are nonrefundable. 4. Cancellations or modifications will be accepted and refunds (less registration fee) will be made through 31 July 2008. 5. Modifications after 31 July 2008 will be subject to the $10 late registration fee. 6. Requests for refunds must be made in writing via e-mail and are subject to the following: Prior to 1 August 2008 – Forfeit of $10 registration fee. Prior to 1 September 2008 - Forfeit of $10 registration fee and, if applicable, $10 late fee; plus a cancellation penalty of 10% of the total cost. Prior to 14 September 2008 - Forfeit of $10 registration fee and, if applicable, $10 late fee; plus a cancellation penalty of 25% of the total cost. No requests for refunds will be accepted after 13 September 2008. Receipt of your e-mail must be acknowledged by the Association. If you don’t receive an acknowledgement within 24 hours, send another e-mail. 7. All events are subject to a minimum attendance. The Association reserves the right to cancel or modify events where the minimum attendance is not met. In the event of a cancellation by the Association, refunds will be made as soon as practical. 8. The Association will not be held liable for failure of vendors to provide contracted services, or any injuries/accidents that may occur during the reunion. 9. Please drink responsibly and have a designated driver.
Schedule of Events
Wednesday - 9/17/08
Join your friends for a casual reception at the reunion hotel. This is a great chance to see who is here this year in a relaxed atmosphere. Food, soft drinks, beer, and wine are included in the cost. No host cocktails will be available. Don’t miss this first opportunity to reconnect with your friends and squadron mates.
Thursday - 9/18/08
This is your chance to show your friends how good your golf game is. The Golf outing will take place early Thursday morning. The price includes greens fees and mandatory cart. You will be contacted by the golf coordinator with further details. Registered reunion attendees may have up to 3 guests not registered for the reunion, participate in the golf outing, i.e., local registered attendees bring your own golf buddies. Requests to play with other reunion attendees or to set up your own foursomes can be sent to golf@f-14association.com.
Opening Ceremony & Memorial Service (Time TBD).
This event will be held at the Oceana O'Club on Thursday evening. Your cost includes beer, wine, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. No host cocktails available. Reunion groups can be accommodated at this event. Wear your best Key West attire. Additional details on this event will be provided as they become available.
This one’s for the hardy that can still party late at the Key West Night and be out early in the morning for a good run. He’s your chance to show you still got it while the rest of us sleep it off.
Airshow Chalet (Time TBD). $10/person or $25/family.
Saturday - 9/20/08 Annual F-14 Association General Meeting and Breakfast 0800-0830 (Site TBD) This is a free event and a continental breakfast will be provided. We anticipate a short meeting to address any required Association business. An agenda will be provided in advance of the meeting. For planning purposes, please sign up if you will be attending.
F-14 Panel Symposium 0830-1130 (Site TBD). This is a free event. Panelists will be announced in the near future. For planning purposes, please sign up if you will be attending.
This free event will be held in conjunction with the meeting and symposium. Contest winners will be announced at the conclusion of the symposium.
This will be the Saturday air show. The cost includes soft drinks, beer, wine, and food plus the opportunity to view the air show right on the flight line. The family price is intended for the attendee’s immediate children.
Cost includes entertainment, barbeque, and 2 drinks. No host bar available. Keagans is located at 1550 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach.
Farewell Gathering and Bubba Breakfast (Site and time TBD) $25/person. Opportunity to say goodbye to the reunion attendees until next year. The event will be at the reunion hotel. The cost includes a full breakfast.
This will be the Sunday air show. The cost includes soft drinks, beer, wine, and food plus the opportunity to view the air show right on the flight line. The family price is intended for the attendee’s immediate children.
